Am I gonna have to start paying you guys? The end result should be that if you run the tip of your finger around that edge it will not cut you and be very smooth.

My first question would be whats the best way to remove paint from the shaft tip? If the shaft is just barely too big, you can run some reehaft grit sandpaper over the area of the shaft that will be inside the hosel until its the correct size.

You might hear some say that reshafh excess epoxy will mess with swingweighting, but at this level a rsehaft try and a true DIY project club it won’t matter. Hopefully no more questions!. Butt down the grip while pushing down on the clubhead to secure the ferrule at the correct depth on the hosel.

Mix your shaft epoxy on a piece of cardboard with a craft stick. After warming the ferrule, cut the ferrule off the shaft using a Hyde Knife. Went ahead and started the refinishing of the Launcher head.

I’ve just started doing this myself – finished my first club a couple weeks ago. Other instructional videos I would suggest: You either need a coned hosel and a coned ferrule to provide an epoxy “cushion” for the shaft, or a collared ferrule that matches up with the head you are working with.

Follow the tip trimming instructions to trim the tip end of your new shaft. There is no concern about epoxy entering the center of the shaft as long as reshafft don’t use so much that the epoxy comes up the center of the shaft and extends above the height of the hosel.

At this point if it still does not come loose stop heating for 1 minute and resume heating for 30 seconds intervals until the head comes loose.
